Telangana Secretariat Buildings Demolition To Begin from Sunday
Officials will lock the Main Entrance of Telangana Secretariat on Sunday and will begin demolishing. General Administration Department issued Oral Instructions on Friday to complete the Movement of files by then. 90% of the Departments have finished shifting including the Files.
Most of the Offices are Operating from Burgula Ramakrishna Bhavan. GAD officials have verified all the empty blocks on Friday and will go for the final round of verification on Sunday before the Demolition. After that, the Earth Movers will come in and begin work. The demolition is expected to take place for one week to 10 days. It is known that the Telangana Government has decided to construct the State of the Art Secretariat Buildings at the same place as the Old Buildings citing Fire Safety Reasons. But then, many say that it is due to Vaastu reasons and the Chief Minister had stopped coming to the Secretariat along ago and constructed Pragathi Bhavan for his work. The State Government also planned to construct a new Assembly and Council razing down Erra Manzil but the Telangana High Court issued a stay on the Demolition citing Heritage Reasons. The State Government is yet to take a decision on that aspect. So, Erra Manzil Buildings are not being touched right now.
