\"CBN\"Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu convened the 49th review meeting of the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) at his residence in Undavalli, focusing on the accelerated development of Amaravati, the proposed people\u2019s capital of Andhra Pradesh.<\/span><\/p>\n

During the meeting, the Chief Minister reviewed the progress of infrastructure works being undertaken in and around the Government Complex zone, spread over 1,450 acres. As part of this initiative, the government has decided to invite tenders worth Rs 1,052 crore<\/strong> for the development of internal infrastructure in this area. This includes roads, underground utilities, drainage, water supply, and other core civic amenities crucial for the functioning of the administrative capital.<\/p>\n

In addition, tenders amounting to Rs 682 crore<\/strong> will be floated for the construction of a strategic road link connecting the Seed Access Road<\/strong> to the National Highway<\/strong>, aimed at improving connectivity to Amaravati and ensuring smooth transportation of goods and people to the core capital zone.<\/p>\n

Focus on Green and Blue City Planning<\/strong><\/p>\n

Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MAUD) Minister Dr. P. Narayana, who was present at the meeting, highlighted discussions held with planning and engineering officials regarding the concept of a “Green and Blue City”. This includes sustainable urban development with extensive green spaces and well-managed water bodies forming an integral part of Amaravati\u2019s master plan.<\/p>\n

Dr. Narayana also briefed the Chief Minister on insights gained during a recent visit to Lucknow<\/strong>, where the delegation studied the construction and design of river bunds<\/strong> for flood management and urban aesthetics. He further discussed their observations of the solid waste management plant<\/strong> operating in Lucknow, which is seen as a model for efficient waste handling.<\/p>\n

Interestingly, the Minister revealed that officials from Uttar Pradesh<\/strong> will be visiting Amaravati soon to examine the solid waste management system<\/strong> being implemented here, signifying growing inter-state collaboration and knowledge exchange in urban infrastructure planning.<\/p>\n

Three-Year Completion Target for Amaravati<\/strong><\/p>\n

Emphasizing the need for speed and precision, CM Naidu directed the CRDA to fast-track the tendering and execution process, reiterating the government\u2019s commitment to completing the core infrastructure of Amaravati within three years<\/strong>. The Chief Minister stressed that Amaravati is not just a capital city, but a symbol of people\u2019s aspirations, and its timely completion remains a top priority for the state administration.<\/p>\n

With tenders worth over Rs 1,700 crore<\/strong> being rolled out and a renewed focus on sustainable and modern urban planning, the Amaravati project appears to be regaining momentum under the new administration\u2019s stewardship.Read more<\/a><\/p>\n
