Hyderabad:<\/strong> A political spark has rapidly turned into a raging fire across the Telugu states. What started as a dispute over a public meeting has now evolved into a full-blown confrontation involving Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan, BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR), Telangana ministers, political activists, and even the sensitive issue of Telangana identity itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The controversy exploded after Pawan Kalyan’s proposed “Telangana Nava Nirmana Sankalpa Sabha” in Hyderabad ran into trouble with authorities. The denial of permission triggered a strong response from the Jana Sena chief, who questioned whether political leaders now needed “passports” to move and hold meetings across Indian states.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But it was his remarks on regionalism that truly ignited the political battlefield.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Statement That Started the Fire<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

At a press interaction in Hyderabad, Pawan Kalyan warned against excessive regionalism, arguing that it could weaken national unity. After remarks allegedly made by Nageshwar regarding Pawan Kalyan’s meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, legal complaints and FIRs followed. Telangana activists, journalists and civil society groups rallied behind Nageshwar, while Jana Sena leaders strongly defended their chief.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
