Daggubati Family Faces Legal Turmoil Ahead of Venkatesh’s Film Release
In a dramatic turn of events, the Daggubati family, a prominent name in Tollywood, is embroiled in legal trouble just days before the highly anticipated release of Venkatesh’s upcoming film, Sankranthiki Vasthunnam, scheduled for January 14.
A case has been filed against actor Venkatesh, his brother and veteran producer Suresh Babu, and nephews Rana Daggubati and Abhiram, accusing them of trespassing and causing significant property damage in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad.
The complainant, identified as Nandakumar, alleges that the Daggubati brothers unlawfully entered leased properties, inflicted damages, and misappropriated property worth approximately ₹20 crores. The case has been filed under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including sections 448 (trespass), 452 (house-trespass after preparation for assault), 458 (lurking house-trespass or house-breaking), and 120(B) (criminal conspiracy).
According to the complaint, the accused allegedly violated a Telangana High Court injunction prohibiting any construction or demolition activities on the disputed properties. Despite the legal restrictions, the complainant claims the Daggubati family continued demolition activities, further intensifying the dispute.
The allegations extend back to November 2022 and January 2024, during which the complainant accuses the Daggubati family of employing anti-social elements to threaten and assault his staff. These actions reportedly caused substantial financial and emotional distress to the complainant.
The Film Nagar Police have officially registered the case and launched an investigation to ascertain the veracity of the claims.
This incident is the latest in a series of legal challenges faced by Tollywood stars. Actor Nagarjuna recently faced the demolition of his N Convention Centre by the Telangana government, while Allu Arjun was entangled in legal troubles following a stampede at the Pushpa 2 promotional event.
As the controversy unfolds, the timing couldn’t be worse for Venkatesh, whose film release coincides with the Sankranthi festive season—a crucial period for box office success.
The Daggubati family, known for their influential standing in the Telugu film industry, now faces the daunting task of addressing these allegations amidst the media spotlight. The case has garnered significant attention, with fans and critics closely watching how the family navigates the legal and reputational challenges.
With Sankranthiki Vasthunnam poised for release, it remains to be seen how these developments impact the film’s performance and the family’s standing in the industry. Stay tuned to M9 News for the latest updates on this unfolding story.Read more
