Nara lokeshAndhra Pradesh Minister for Human Resource Development, Nara Lokesh, has been actively working to enhance the state’s education system by incorporating the latest technological advancements. Since assuming office, he has already implemented several reforms aimed at improving the quality of education. Now, in a significant move, Lokesh has directed education officials to implement a “No Bag Day” every Saturday in schools.

Under this initiative, students will attend school without carrying their usual load of textbooks and notebooks. Instead, Saturdays will be dedicated to co-curricular and skill-based activities that foster creativity, critical thinking, and hands-on learning. This decision aligns with global educational trends that emphasize holistic development beyond traditional academics.

Acknowledging concerns about the burden of multiple mobile applications used by teachers for administrative and academic tasks, Lokesh has announced the launch of a single, integrated app. This platform will streamline data management, lesson planning, and student assessments, thereby reducing teachers’ workload and allowing them to focus more on effective teaching.

Lokesh has also stressed the importance of conducting regular teacher meetings to enhance their understanding of modern teaching methodologies. These meetings will focus on integrating new technologies into classrooms, ensuring that students benefit from an up-to-date and practical learning experience.

In an effort to maintain accurate records of student enrollment, Lokesh has reviewed the Apaar ID system, which tracks the actual number of students attending schools across the state. Ensuring precise data will help the government plan better policies and allocate resources efficiently.

The minister also discussed potential reforms at the intermediate level, aiming to bridge learning gaps and improve the quality of higher secondary education. Additionally, he assured that he would take steps to address the concerns surrounding GO 117, a government order that has been a point of contention among educators and stakeholders. Lokesh stated that he plans to gather feedback from teachers and education experts to find a balanced solution regarding its withdrawal.

Recognizing the need for fair and transparent teacher transfer policies, Lokesh emphasized that he would consult various stakeholders before making any decisions. By incorporating teachers’ opinions, the government aims to ensure a system that is both efficient and beneficial for educators and students alike.

With these progressive reforms, Nara Lokesh is positioning Andhra Pradesh’s education system for a future that prioritizes both technological integration and student well-being. His proactive approach suggests that more innovative policies are on the horizon, potentially reshaping the educational landscape of the state.Read more
