“Political Campaign Expenditure Reaches 20 Lakhs Daily”
As the Telangana assembly elections are done and dusted, we witnessed a fierce political battleground with major parties employing competitive strategies. However, as we transition to the Lok Sabha elections, that same excitement seems to have simmered down across the board. Despite the polling deadline being just 40 days away, the major parties aren’t showing the same level of enthusiasm in their campaigning efforts.
Instead, only individual candidates are out and about with their followers. Full-fledged campaigning in assembly constituencies hasn’t kicked off yet, and there’s a noticeable absence of the typical election buzz. Cost concerns seem to be the biggest factor, with parties hesitant to launch massive campaigns that could drain their resources.
For instance, leaders estimate that running a large-scale campaign with activists in each assembly constituency could cost more than Rs 20 lakh per day. The top leaders of the main parties seem to be holding back and are planning to wait until the notification is released on the 18th before ramping up their efforts, as they believe the 25-day polling period will be enough.Read more..
