Indian familyA devastating car crash in Texas has tragically claimed the lives of three Indian Americans, turning a family’s hopeful journey into a profound tragedy. On July 14, Arvind Mani, 45, his wife Pradeepa Arvind, 40, and their 17-year-old daughter, Andril Arvind, were involved in a fatal head-on collision while en route to the University of Texas at Dallas. Andril, a promising young student, was about to embark on her college journey, pursuing a degree in computer science—a milestone the family had been eagerly anticipating.

The accident occurred when a 2004 Cadillac, driven by 31-year-old Jacinto Gudino Duran, experienced a catastrophic rear tire blowout. The vehicle lost control, swerved into oncoming traffic, and collided with the Kia Telluride driven by Arvind Mani. The impact of the collision was so severe that all three members of the Mani family lost their lives instantly. Duran, along with his 23-year-old female passenger, also perished in the crash.

Witnesses reported that the Cadillac was speeding at the time of the accident, adding to the already heartbreaking circumstances. The loss has left the community in shock, especially considering the promising future Andril had ahead of her at the university.

Back in Texas, the couple’s 14-year-old son, Adiryan, who had just begun his first day of high school, now faces the unimaginable reality of life without his parents and sister. The young teenager’s world has been turned upside down, leaving him to navigate this profound loss on his own.

In the wake of this tragedy, family friend Rajaraman Venkatachalam has stepped in to provide support, launching a fundraising campaign to help Adiryan during this difficult time. The outpouring of support from the community highlights the deep sense of loss felt by all who knew the Mani family.

This heartbreaking incident serves as a stark reminder of how quickly lives can be altered, and it has resonated deeply within both the local and broader Indian-American communities.Read more
