Before the election results were announced, the Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir in Ayodhya attracted an average of 100,000 to 150,000 pilgrims daily. However, following the BJP’s unexpected defeat in Ayodhya, there has been a significant decline in the number of devotees visiting the temple. BJP supporters, dismayed by the outcome of the 18th Lok Sabha elections, have voiced their frustration towards the residents of Ayodhya.

Despite the BJP’s numerous contributions to the region, including the construction of a grand Ram temple, the establishment of an airport, and efforts to transform Ayodhya into a modern tourist destination, the local populace chose not to elect a BJP candidate as their parliamentary representative. This decline in pilgrim numbers not only affects the local economy but also casts a shadow over the city’s future as a major religious and tourist hub. The situation highlights the complex interplay between politics and religion in India, as well as the tangible impact of electoral outcomes on local communities. The frustration and anger among BJP supporters underscore the deep emotional and political investments tied to Ayodhya, a city of immense cultural and religious significance.Read more..
