Lagadapati Rajagopal new Prediction on TDP
If elections are held for the Andhra Pradesh state assembly now, only one-third of the sitting Telugu Desam Party MLAs can retain their seats.
This is said to be the outcome of the latest survey conducted by the team of former Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal.
Sources said Lagadapati had submitted the latest report to TDP supremo and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu a few days ago.
According to the survey, only 35 of the 103 TDP MLAs would be able to win again in the assembly elections, if they are held now.
There is a strong dissatisfaction among the people towards the remaining TDP MLAs and they might not be able to retain their seats again.
However, the survey has remained silent on the fate of the 22 YSRC MLAs who had defected to the TDP and also that of the opposition parties. Needless to say, the bad performing MLAs would lose to the YSRC MLAs only.
It is learnt Lagadapati has been conducting frequent surveys at the behest of Naidu, so that the latter can take up the damage control exercise.
Already, the TDP president has taken up the task of repairing the party. He indicated to the party MLAs to perform at least now or lose hope on being getting the party tickets again in the next elections.
Sources said the TDP president is getting ready with an alternative list of leaders who would be given the tickets in place of non-performing MLAs in the next elections.
