The Andhra Pradesh government had taken a decision to promote establishment of super specialty hospitals in all district headquarters.

The government had also decided to have the super speciality hospitals in Vijayawada, Rajamahendravaram and Tirupati, besides the 13 districts.

Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy had directed the officials to acquire at least 30 acres of land in all district headquarters and the three cities for the hospitals.

The chief minister also directed the officials to encourage private investment for these hospitals.

He asked the officials to give priority to those who are ready to invest at least Rs 100 crore in each of these hospitals.

The chief minister had taken the decision in the light of the increasing Covid 19 positive cases and the dearth of the oxygen beds for the patients.

These 16 super speciality hospitals should be ready in the next three years, the chief minister told the officials.
