Vijay sai reddyYSR Congress Rajya Sabha MP Vijayasai Reddy is known for his strategic approach to political discourse, particularly on social media. His behavior often exemplifies the adage, “దొంగే దొంగ అన్నట్టు వ్యవహారం” (a thief calling others thieves), reflecting a complex mix of accusation and deflection. The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) has cultivated a notorious culture of deploying dedicated social media teams to launch relentless attacks on political opponents.

Interestingly, no other political party in the Telugu-speaking states has embraced social media warfare with the same intensity. The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has a small, relatively inactive social media team. Meanwhile, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) relies on a network of volunteers for its social media presence, and the Congress Party in Telangana remains largely disengaged from online platforms.

Despite this, Sai Reddy has taken to X (formerly Twitter) to accuse TDP supporters of hiding behind fake identities. “It’s shameful to see TDP sympathizers hiding behind fake identities and fake accounts on social media. Those using fake names, including ‘Reddy,’ ‘Yadav,’ and ‘Gowd’ as a surname, to abuse YSRCP leaders should have the guts to come out in the open with their real names and stand by their words,” he asserted.

Reddy further emphasized the importance of transparency: “If you have something to criticize, say it with your real name irrespective of the caste TDP members belong to. Stop hiding like cowards behind anonymity. Clearly, you lack self-pride, repute, and the courage to own your words. If you can’t stand by your comments publicly, then you should think twice before posting. Be real, or don’t bother at all.”

These statements appear contradictory when considering the YSR Congress’s own practices. The party’s extensive social media apparatus operates under pseudonyms and anonymous accounts, with many using generic names associated with Jagan Mohan Reddy. Some have even been implicated in abusive cases involving the judiciary, their identities exposed in the process.

In a broader context, Sai Reddy’s criticisms of other parties, particularly the TDP, seem to be part of a calculated effort to shift blame and propagate the narrative that only the Kamma caste supports TDP. This narrow-minded view overlooks the diverse support base of a party that secured 164 out of 175 seats in the recent elections.Read more
