“Will Prabhakar Rao Surrender Amid Phone-Tapping Allegations?”

T. Prabhakar Rao, considered a key player in the phone tapping case at the center of the Special Intelligence Branch (SIB), surrender before the police? The police officers arrested so far have mentioned that they acted according to Prabhakar Rao’s directions.It is known that Prabhakar Rao recently called an investigating officer from America and stated that he acted as directed by the previous government. The investigating officer suggested Prabhakar Rao come to Hyderabad and share his side of the story with the police in person or send an email. Prabhakar Rao, who had previously claimed he was in America for cancer treatment, is expected to return to Hyderabad in two to three months.
Similar to former DCP (OSD) Radhakishan Rao of the task force, it is reported that Prabhakar Rao will surrender directly to the DCP of the West Zone. Prabhakar Rao had earlier informed investigating officers that he would return from America once his cancer treatment was completed.
However, the sudden decision to surrender and return to Hyderabad raises questions. A person who spoke to Prabhakar Rao advised him to surrender to the police before the situation becomes more complicated, emphasizing that other accused may not get bail until he does. He also mentioned that Prabhakar Rao’s houses are being searched, and involving Interpol would not bode well for him.
Prabhakar Rao seems to have agreed to return to Hyderabad after being assured that the police department will handle his case without trouble. It is said that punishing the masterminds of phone tapping may not be possible unless one of the accused becomes an approver. In this context, if Prabhakar Rao or Praneet Rao are willing, they may be considered as approvers.
