A Uscisguy named Jaiprakash Gulvady from Land O’ Lakes in Florida admitted he lied to become a U.S. citizen. He could go to jail for up to 10 years. He got in trouble because he didn’t tell the truth about his marriages and kids when he applied for citizenship. Jaiprakash Gulvady who lived in Florida came to the United States from India in 2001 on a temporary business visa.

After divorcing his American wife in 2008, he quickly remarried another American citizen just two weeks later. This new marriage helped him become a lawful permanent resident in 2009. He got a Green Card. However, Gulvady didn’t stop there. During a trip back to India in 2009, he married an Indian woman. They later had a child together in 2011. Despite being married in both the US and India, Gulvady applied for US citizenship in 2014, claiming he was not currently married and had no children. His deceit didn’t stop there. Using his fraudulently obtained citizenship, Gulvady applied for a US passport and conveniently left out his Indian wife. With this passport, he traveled back and forth between the US and India multiple times. But his actions caught up with him. Homeland Security Investigations discovered his lies, and Gulvady pleaded guilty to unlawfully obtaining citizenship, misusing evidence, making false statements, and using a passport secured through lies. Now, Gulvady faces up to 10 years in federal prison. His US citizenship will also be revoked, bringing an end to his deceitful journey.
