ys vijayammaIn an escalating family feud, YS Vijayamma has intensified her accusations against her son, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, and his wife, YS Bharati. The legal battle within the YSR family has taken a dramatic turn, with Vijayamma urging the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), Hyderabad Bench, to impose a hefty fine on Jagan and Bharati for allegedly misleading the Tribunal.

Vijayamma expressed her strong discontent over what she called an unnecessary entanglement of her daughter, YS Sharmila, in the ongoing legal dispute. She firmly stated that Sharmila had no connection with Saraswati Power Corporation Limited or the gift deed under scrutiny. According to her, Jagan and Bharati were deliberately misrepresenting facts before the Tribunal to serve their interests.

Vijayamma asserted that she holds the majority of shares in Saraswati Power Corporation Limited, challenging the claims made by Jagan and Bharati regarding ownership and control. She alleged that any reference to Sharmila’s interests in the company was baseless and misleading. According to Vijayamma, she owns 99.75% of the shares, which contradicts the claims made by Jagan and Bharati in their legal filings.

She further declared that the petitions submitted by Jagan, Bharati, and Classic Realty before the Tribunal were invalid and should be dismissed outright. Emphasizing the misuse of corporate legal provisions, she argued that Section 59 of the Companies Act, which protects the legal rights of stakeholders, should not be exploited for personal disputes.

Detailing the sequence of events, Vijayamma revealed that on July 26, 2021, Jagan and Bharati executed two gift deeds in her favor. Through these transactions:

  • 74.26 lakh shares belonging to Jagan and
  • 40.50 lakh shares from Bharatiwere officially transferred to her.

She even provided folio numbers to support her claim, reinforcing that she had become the rightful owner of these shares. Given that the shares were transferred to her legally, she argued that Jagan and Bharati had no standing to contest the matter in the Tribunal.

In her plea, Vijayamma demanded that the Tribunal not only dismiss Jagan and Bharati’s petitions but also impose a substantial financial penalty on them for filing misleading and legally untenable claims. She insisted that their actions were a deliberate attempt to manipulate the legal process and create unnecessary complications in the family’s financial affairs.

The escalating conflict within the YSR family has significant political and legal ramifications, particularly with Jagan being the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and Sharmila carving her own political path. This public fallout between close family members is drawing widespread attention, as it raises questions about power struggles and business interests within the influential political dynasty.

With Vijayamma standing her ground and pushing for severe consequences, the legal battle is expected to continue, potentially affecting Jagan’s political image and family dynamics further.

This high-profile dispute has now entered a crucial phase, with the Tribunal’s decision likely to have far-reaching consequences for all parties involved.Read more
